Story of Telematics

Kelompok Keahlian (KK) Telematika dibentuk sekitar tahun pertengahan 2008 dan disahkan di bulan Januari 2009. Secara khusus dibentuknya KK ini adalah sebagai tempat bernaungnya para dosen yang mempunyai research interest di bidang atau area penelitian yang serumpun. Sebelum berubah nama menjadi KK Telematika, nama kelompok keahlian ini adalah Sistem Komputer dan Jaringan Komputer (SKJK) yang dibentuk seitar tahun 1999. Dari awal terbentukya, KK Telematika membawahi beberapa Laboratoria antara lain Lab. Internet of Things, Lab Hardware dan Embedded System, Lab Forensic and Secured System, dan Lab. Network and Operating System.

Domain pengajaran yang diselenggarakan oleh KK Telematika ataupun area penelitian merupakan hasil pengembangan 10 tahun yang lalu, sehingga perlu untuk disesuaikan dengan perkembangan konsep, teknologi, serta kutikulum ICT saat ini. Dengan demikian sudah saatnya dibuat rencana pengembangan laboratoria secara umum untuk 10 tahun ke depan yan mencakup domain penelitian serta pengajaran. Di tahun 2018 ini diusulkan penggantian nama serta research interest dari KK Telematika. Adapun nama usulan sebagai pengganti Telematika adalah Sistem Siber Fisik, Komputer, Jaringan Komputer dan Sistem Keamanan atau disingkat SKJK. Tentunya perubahan nama ini diharapkan tidak hanya sekedar pergantian nama Laboratorianya saja, akan tetapi akan berdampak pada mengerucutnya area penelitian serta materi pengajarannya untuk mengikuti perkembangan konsep, teknologi, serta kutikulum ICT.
